ad-hoc commitments, I can offer a professional service

to suit all your pet’s requirements.

* A Fully Qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)

* Over 20 years of experience caring for animals

I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse with over 20 years of experience caring for animals in veterinary practice, rescue shelters and as a pet owner myself. I have volunteered for many kennels and catteries, including an animal clinic in Koh phangan in Thailand for 6 months. The centre cared for the stray cats and dogs on the island.

I also ran my own animal sanctuary in Cambridgeshire for over 7 years. I rescued and cared for many different species of animal including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks, chickens, turkeys and 2 very greedy and loveable large white pigs. I have nursed in a variety of different veterinary practices, both rural and inner-city, including the PDSA and The Dog's Trust, nursing in surgical, emergency and out-patient clinics.

I have known Frances for a number of years and during that time she has been the favourite ‘Auntie’ to my two dogs, Wilf (a retired racing greyhound) and Gabe (an ex-working lurcher).

Both the boys had pretty specific needs:

Wilf being a typically lazy greyhound could be stubborn and took a look of persuasion to do most things! He could also get spooked very easily and needed a lot of reassurance.

Gabe, a rescue dog from an ex-working background, had a high prey-drive and whilst placid for 99% of the time, would go crazy if he saw a cat or squirrel – it took quick reflexes and a lot of strength to hold on to the lead!

Both the dogs needed specific medication. Gabe required oral chemotherapy towards the end of his life; the combination and dosage of drugs were horribly complicated.

Additionally, I fed the dogs a specific home-made diet that wasn’t exactly straightforward either!

It wasn’t easy therefore to trust someone to look after the dogs for me (nor find many that were willing!)

In fact, the only person I did trust, especially at the end when it came to all their pills and potions, was Frances. Frances has a lovely, calm, gentle way about her - but she’s no push-over either! She adored my two dogs and they adored her. Whenever Frances looked after the boys I was 100% confident that they were being looked after, kept safe and having a fabulous time

What I can offer you and your pet

Pop-in Visits (30 minutes each visit)

I can visit your pet once or twice a day to feed, water, clean litter trays, brush, fuss and play with. I would be happy to water plants, wheel the bin out and collect the mail and any other small tasks during this time.

Dog Walking

I can provide a half an hour or hours walk for your dog(s). I don't collect dogs from a variety of households and walk them together as I believe that my time is for your individual pet(s).
