About A-Star Pet Sitting & Services

Hello, and welcome to A-Star Pet Sitting & Services. I'm Angie, a lifelong animal lover and experienced pet parent offering professional pet sitting with a personal, heartfelt touch. After many rewarding years in publishing, I decided to follow my true passion. Drawing on the precision and high level of attention to detail I honed during my media career, I now bring that same dedication to caring for pets. As an experienced pet parent to three cats of my own, I know exactly how much they mean to us – and how hard it can be to leave them behind. I miss mine like crazy when I’m away, so I understand the peace of mind that comes from knowing your pets, as well as your home, are safe, loved, and in trusted hands. That’s why I treat every pet and home as if they were my own, offering dependable, respectful, and above-and-beyond care. My goal is to create a genuine bond with your pet so they feel safe, loved, and relaxed even when you're not there.

My journey into pet care began just before lockdown in 2020, when I qualified my cat Rupert as a Pets as Therapy animal. I then started dog walking. I also bring a wealth of professional experience from my nine years as Deputy Editor of Your Cat magazine, where I worked closely with cat welfare charities, breeders, and behaviourists. I researched and wrote articles, directed photo shoots with adult cats and kittens, and developed a deep understanding of feline behaviour, health, and care – all of which I apply in my day-to-day pet care.

What I offer: loving, attentive pet sitting in your home with full care of pets and property; drop-in visits for company, feeding, play, and litter tray cleaning; dog walking tailored to your pet’s energy level; transport to vet or grooming appointments; medication administration and special diet management; basic grooming; house sitting; support for senior or sensitive pets; regular photo and message updates for peace of mind; and companionship for owners – lifts or support for vet visits. Whether you need short-term help or long-term support, I’m here to be a trusted companion for both you and your pets.

When caring for pets in their own home, I prioritise maintaining their familiar routine and environment to help them feel safe, relaxed, and loved. I follow your instructions closely – from feeding schedules and medication to playtime preferences and sleeping arrangements – ensuring your pet receives consistent, personalised care. I bring the same attention to detail that has defined my professional career into every visit, whether it’s a short drop-in or an extended stay. I keep your home clean and secure, and I’m happy to help with extras like watering plants, bringing in post, or adjusting lights and curtains to give your home a lived-in feel while you're away. I also offer support with vet and grooming appointments, including transport and companionship if needed. My goal is to be a trusted companion for both you and your pet – someone who goes above and beyond to ensure peace of mind and genuine care.

To provide the best possible care, I like to understand your pet’s unique personality, routine, and needs before any visit or walk. Key things I ask about include:
Daily routine – feeding times, walks, play, sleep habits
Dietary needs – including any allergies, sensitivities, or special diets
Medical history – current medications, health conditions, vet details
Behavioural traits – likes, dislikes, fears, triggers, and quirks
Social preferences – how they interact with people, other pets, or strangers
Comfort items – favourite toys, beds, grooming tools, or calming aids
Emergency contacts – including your preferred vet and backup contacts
House rules – areas they’re allowed, routines you’d like maintained

This helps me tailor each visit or walk to your pet’s comfort and wellbeing, and ensures I can respond calmly and confidently to any situation. My goal is always to make your pet feel safe and loved while you're away.

Please contact me to ask about tailored packages and to book an initial meet and greet.
