 Vivienne and I met some years ago during an extended visit to South Africa. I am a Carpenter by trade and an animal lover by heart. For over 40 years I have loved and cared for my own dogs and cats. For some time I wanted to move away from Carpentry and follow my dreams of working with animals for a living and today I cannot imagine doing anything else. Viv left the corporate world 15 years ago to follow her passion of working with animals. Where she successfully built a Wildlife Consulting business. She was professionally involved in the hand rearing of wild cats such as serval & caracal, the capture, relocation, and rehabilitation of various other animals from small antelope to rhino and when Viv decided that she would join me in my home town of Manchester there was no doubt in our minds that with our mutual love for animals and the outdoors, the logical step would be for us to find a way to follow our hearts and work with animals and so The Dog Walkers was established. We have been walking dogs and caring for people’s pets and loving it ever since. We pride ourselves in being able to offer a professional but personal service to our clients. Whether we're out walking your special little friend or looking out for them whilst you are away from home, you can be rest assured that they are in experienced and caring hands. We know that they are never just your “pets" they are an incredibly special part of the family and whilst they are with us, we will always take great care to treat them as just that – special!  

Consultation

We enjoy offering that personalised service and therefore like to meet with both you and your fur babies first to find out your specific requirements plus any special requirements, behavioural issues, or illness your dog may have prior to walking and caring for them and we do this from the comfort of your/their own home as this helps them to feel safe and for us to build some trust with your dog in their secure environment. This will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have for us and to make sure that we are most likely going to be right for one another. 

10 - 60 minutes - Free   

We only walk up to 4 dogs each at a time and we use lots of treats for positive reinforcement training for the dogs, which we believe keeps them happy, better behaved and stimulated in between running, sniffing and playing with their paw pals.

Group Dog Walking  

Group walk times are 10am - 12pm - 2pm    

The length of time for each walk is the actual walking time but the dogs may be out with us for up to 2 hours of the day, for a 60 minute group walk. Our dogs can socialise with each other in one of our multi purpose dog carriers and can be grated whilst they are picked up from and dropped off home safely.

We want your dogs to be happy, safe, and well exercised when they are with us. We take them to various meadows, woodlands and large parks in South Manchester, Trafford and SK postcodes giving them the opportunity to experience and explore new and exciting places, letting them have as much fun as possible. If your pup should get wet whilst out and about, we will gladly dry your furry friend down when we arrive back at your home.

Solo Dog Walks

We offer solo walks for the reactive or boisterous. We do this hoping to integrate them successfully into one of our walking groups if and when they are ready.

We supply dog leads, treats, biodegradable poop bags, and water and we use overshoes in your home so that we don't leave our paw prints behind.

All Pets - Home Visits

We offer home visits for all your pets for playtime, feeding, petting, water refills, administering oral medication and litter cleaning and we can water the plants too. We will take care of it for you. 

Pet Taxi 

Let your pets travel in comfort and safety in one of our multi purpose dog carriers they are both temperature controlled, with a soft fabric floor and grated. We can carry all sizes of pets (No Giraffe's) to your chosen destination. We pick up from and deliver to kennels, catteries, vets or groomers. 

The Dog Walkers can guarantee that we will become your dog's 2nd best friend and we will do our level best to reassure you that they are having a great time when they are out with us - as they say the proofs in the pudding, and we expect the boys and girls to always be excited for our arrival and THEIR walk.
