Hi my name is Julie and I run Julie's Happy Hounds. I grew up in Surrey and now live in Weybridge.
I have always loved being around dogs - from a child my first experience was with our neighbour's bloodhound Baron, my school years were spent with Sika a German Shorthaired Pointer followed by Rusty a Hungarian Vizsla. Kika the Hungarian Vizsla is our family dog now and provides us with a lot of fun !
To improve my knowledge and ensure I care for your dog in the best possible way I have been studying all things canine.
I have attended the following courses: Dog First Aid Training Course, Perfect Puppy Foundation Course, Canine Nutrition Course, Career as a Dog Trainer Course, Dog Grooming Course, Understanding Canine Behaviour Course. I completed the NarpsUK Business Course. I am a qualified Merishia Canine Massage Therapist. I am fully insured and DBS Checked (formally called CRB). I have an air conditioned van with separate dog pods for the safety and comfort of your dog
DOG WALKING SERVICES
Depending on your requirements you can book a group dog walk (please note I walk a maximum of 4 dogs to ensure all have a safe and happy walk) for an hour or an individual dog walk for 30 minutes or an hour. They may prefer to play ball, go to woodlands, a walk around the streets or a gentle stroll in the park with rest stops.
We can discuss what your dog likes / dislikes and plan the walk to suit their needs.
Your dog will be dried with a towel after their walk. As well as keeping your dog clean a good rub-dry will get your dog’s circulation going and keep them warm and happy.
If your dog is a golden oldie or recovering from an illness and you don't feel they want to walk far but would still like some company I can visit them, let them have a wander around the garden so they can do their business & then sit with them, have a play if they want, and give them a fuss.
PUPPY VISITS
The first couple of months of a puppy's life are demanding, but a lot of fun and very rewarding. If you need to be away for a morning, afternoon or a day or work full time & want to ensure your puppy gets the attention they need during the day, I can help with visits to feed, take them outside to do their business, and a little play. This stimulation will help you to train them & might help to reduce the number of chewed chair legs ! Once your puppy is fully inoculated, I can offer individual short walks so they get accustomed to being out and are exposed to many new experiences in a positive environment (it is important they get to see bicycles, skateboards, joggers and everything that goes on in doggy world!). Once they are big enough they can join the group walks if you would like them to. If you work full time and are worried about your dog being on it's own I can visit in the morning and again in the afternoon.
