About Home Animal Care

I started my Business Home Animal Care in 2003 in Hertfordshire. I later moved to the beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside where I am surrounded by fields with lovely dog walks on my doorstep. I minimise the amount of dogs I take so as to give them my undivided attention. Any dog that stays with me is treated exactly as I treat my own, with loving Care. I always invite prospective customers and their dogs to come and meet myself and my dogs before securing any booking. I like people to see where there beloved pets will be staying. We first met Catherine when Tilly our Jack Russel was just a pup and very much our baby so were very dubious about leaving her. We found Catherine and on our first meeting walked our dogs together and we just knew that Tilly would be fine. Catherine was professional, knowledgeable but most importantly very affectionate with Tilly. That was 13 years ago, Tilly still has 3 or 4 holidays a year with Catherine and absolutely can’t wait to get there. So much so as soon as she sees a packed suitcase she whines until we get there, we have now taken to hiding our packed suitcases!! Four years ago we wanted to introduce another dog into our family and with lots of advice from Catherine about breeds and temperaments decided on a Giant Schnauzer. Catherine how now been looking after her too for the last few years. They could not be happier in fact are a little sad when they get back.
Although Catherine has moved around an hours drive away from us now we would still rather do the two hour round trip to know that our dogs are so happy. They do always come back looking and smelling absolutely gorgeous too.
We now consult with Catherine before even booking a holiday and fit in with when she can have the dogs as we would not send them anywhere else!

Catherine has been looking after our Springer Spaniel Ollie when we go on holiday for the last five years. She is very knowledgable about dogs, especially Spaniels, and clearly loves her work. Ollie comes home fit and relaxed with a lovely shiny coat. I couldn't ask for more.

Stan my dog really enjoyed staying at Catherine’s so much that when he came home that evening he was really sad to leave, Catherine home is so dog friendly for Stan is was like moving from one home to another.

I can’t quite put in words how grateful I am to Catherine and Nicola for looking after my Boris. Myself and my husband travel a lot and when we go I know I am leaving him in the safest hands. He’s always excited to see them both and gets quite upset when he leaves. They are both wonderful people and great at ensuring my Boris is safe and happy. I can’t recommend these ladies highly enough. If you have any doubts, don’t because it’s wasted. Book with Catherine and Nicola and I’ll guarantee you won’t ever have to worry again about your beloved pet. Thank you so much ladies. Boris sends him love too.

After two traumatic trips to kennels in her first year, we wanted somewhere where we could leave her knowing that she would be as settled and as cared for as she would be at home. Catherine provides all that and so much more - she even sends updates on how she is settling in each time! Tango literally drags us up the path to Catherine's front door on day one (quite a contrast from the kennels!) and comes back energised and happy after a week of brisk walks and lots of doggy company. We now never worry about her when we're away and certainly wouldn't dream of leaving her anywhere else. Thanks so much Catherine for providing Tango with a home from home.

I love Catherine and so does my dog Bracken! I feel completely confident leaving Bracken with Catherine when we go away, and know that Bracken will be loved and cared for just as well as when she is at home. Bracken went blind very early on in her life, but Catherine handles her special needs brilliantly, and makes sure she feels comfortable and secure. The way Bracken charges up the garden path to Catherine's house is all the proof I need that she thinks of it as a second home.

Catherine has been supporting us with our two dogs for a few years. She is an absolute Godsend, helpful, supportive and happy to text info and photos just to make us happy. We look forward to many years with Catherine and would recommend Catherine as a wonderful dog carer in this area.
Our Vizsla experienced a slipped disc earlier this year. I reported a concern with Catherine early in the morning and she responded asap upon her visit. Between us our beautiful Vizsla was at Dick Whites and all sorted within a week. Catherine stayed with my Vizsla until I managed to get home. All above and beyond the call of duty.

Our border terrier, Janner, thanked his lucky stars the day that I discovered Catherine whilst searching online. She combines professionalism with her genuine love and understanding of animals. Janner is relaxed and makes himself completely at home; he is very well cared for, loves the different walks and enjoys the company of the other humans and dogs. Now he gets excited when our suitcases appear as he knows he will be going to stay with Catherine, so that's a recommendation from him, too!

When we first contacted Catherine we were impressed by her professionalism and the attention to detail regarding our dog and her particular needs. Tully (our 5 year old Chocolate Labrador) took to Catherine immediately and I had little doubt that she would experience a home from home. Tully has been to Catherines several times now and is clearly well cared for and regularly walked. I think if Tully had her way she would never leave!!

I can highly recommend Catherine of Home ~Animal Care she has always been accommodating, even at short notice, is reliable and very professional. Our two dogs are always well cared for and are very happy to see her. She even had to deal with a case of diarrohea last time she came to us, cleared up the accident and did not complain at all!!!
