About K Nine Companions
Thank you for visiting K Nine Companions. We are a family-run dog walking business based near Lenham, in the heart of Kent’s countryside.
K Nine Companions was founded by Karen and Chris, who both have a love of animals and a shared passion for the outdoors. After many years in successful corporate careers, we decided to begin an exciting new chapter by doing something we truly love - caring for animals and walking dogs. Together, we bring professionalism, organisation, reliability and a strong work ethic to everything we do.
Animals have always been a big part of our lives. Between us, we have cared for and loved a wide variety of pets including dogs, cats, tortoises, budgies, quail, fish, rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters. Our home is currently shared with two cats, three tortoises and some goldfish, and although we do not have dogs of our own at present, we’ve both grown up with dogs as family pets.
We are keen walkers and spend most weekends exploring the Kent countryside with a close friend and her springer spaniel. Walking with dogs brings us immense joy, as it combines the two things we’re really passionate about - our love of nature and animal companionship.
At K Nine Companions, we understand that your pets are a treasured member of your family. Therefore, our aim is to provide a safe, reliable and caring dog walking and pet pop-in service, rooted in trust, professionalism and a real love for animals, whilst ensuring your pet receives not only exercise, but also attention, companionship and genuine affection.
We are committed to treating every dog and pet as if they were our own, ensuring they enjoy exercise, companionship and attention whilst they are in our care. As a family-run business, we pride ourselves on building strong relationships with both pets and their owners, delivering peace of mind through a dependable service and heartfelt dedication.
Please contact us to arrange an initial ‘meet and greet’, which is absolutely free and is an important part of ensuring that we are the right fit for you. It enables us to introduce ourselves and meet you and your dog(s) or pets, allows us to gather information relating to the service you require, establish your pet’s routines, gives you the opportunity to ask us questions or raise any concerns you may have, and if you choose to use us, we can then draw up an agreement that is tailored to cover the service we’re providing for you.

DOG WALKS
Individual one-to-one dog walks.
If there are two or more dogs from the same household, then these can be walked together. The maximum number of dogs in any one group will not exceed four dogs (depending on size of dogs).

HOME VISITS
DOGS
This service includes letting your dog(s) out into the garden to go to the toilet, providing food and water and having a little play time with your furry friend(s). This service does not include a walk.
CATS, BIRDS, FISH, SMALL ANIMALS AND REPTILES
When you’re away from home, we can pop in and make sure your pets are looked after. This can include providing food and water, cleaning trays, coops, cages or enclosures and giving them medication (if required) and some much needed attention whilst you’re not there. During these visits we can also undertake other tasks, such as putting bins out, opening and closing curtains, watering indoor plants, etc.
Note: The amount of time needed for these home visits will depend upon the number of pets in your household and your individual requirements. Prices start from:

PET TAXI
If your pet needs to visit the vet or needs a trim at the groomers and you are unable to take them yourself, then we can get them there safely for you and bring them home again afterwards.
Mondays to Fridays only – 9am to 5pm*
Flat fee (destination within 5 miles of your house) £20
Note: This rate includes the first 15 minutes waiting time.
Any additional waiting time will be charged at £5 (per every 15 minutes).
If your vet or groomers are located further than 5 miles from your house, there will be an additional charge of 60p per mile (each way)
*Times outside of these hours will be considered, by arrangement, and will incur additional costs.
This price list covers all of the services we’re able to offer, but if you need something a little different, then we’re always happy to discuss your requirements and offer a tailored quote to suit your needs.

We offer a one-to-one dog walking service. We will walk your dog alone, unless you have two or more dogs that need walking. We would only ever walk a maximum of two dogs per person at any one time.
Our pet pop-in service includes dogs, cats and other small animals, including puppies and kittens.
We also have a pet taxi service available. We can take your pet to the vets or groomers if you are unable to do this yourself and then get them back home safely.
We both have experience in dealing with a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, fish, small birds, tortoises and other reptiles.
We are fully insured, including key cover.
We are both DBS checked.
We are members of the National Association of Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers (Narps UK).
We've both completed a Narps UK pet sitting and dog walking training course.
We both hold certificates in pet first aid and animal care.
