I have been a member of NarpsUK for just over a year now and I just want to say I have no regrets whatsoever, the benefits, support and advice are invaluable,  Marilyn goes above and beyond helping you with any queries or problems you may have even to the point of logging into my website admin area and uploaded logos and links that I could not do myself -. I went ahead and registered with NarpsUK on Friday and am really glad I did! I have already landed my first pet sitting job with a client who lives in a nearby village, walking her dog for an hour each day. I am hoping that I will soon hear from others too :-)

 I began setting up my pet care business about 4 months ago. Initially I felt that the cost of membership was prohibitive and couldn't be justified. However eventually I felt that I needed to be part of a professional organisation to give my business credence and I wish I had done it much sooner. The forms and information packs provided with membership are excellent and the members only forum is fantastic. When you are starting out you need advice from people who are already doing the job. The forum is supportive, welcoming and invaluable professionally as it addresses the issues facing all of us. I also think that membership sits well with the public as it reassures them that your business is professional and demonstrates that you are operating legitimately.

 I consider this company's services to be excellent value for money. It is definitely more than 'a register for petsitters'as it is a very useful source of information, has a members forum, offers a database for members to use and offers business forms etc which are needed to run your business efficiently. Very importantly, they will also process with your CRB application. I feel that the company is run by a knowledgeable and friendly owner and look forward to being a member for years to come.

The forms an contracts are professional and relevant, the insurance quote via NarpsUK was the cheapest around, I have had a few dog walking jobs from the site but the best thing for me is the software to store my bookings on which is invaluable to my business. Thank you so much Marilyn for the support that you gave to us when we emailed you when we had an incident with a dog that one of our host sitters was looking after.

Both us and our host sitter were devastated when a dog in their care was hurt by a strange dog. Although the dog had superficial injuries and we went directly to a vet as a precaution it was awful ringing the owner and trying to explain about the accident. We weren’t to blame but as pet lovers we feel so sad about it all. We turned to Narpsuk for advice, thank you for your wise words of comfort, particularly that you understood and reassuring us that we will get through this. You are not just a site for people to find us on, you are a support and well worth the yearly subscription.

Thanks to your help in the past few months, we have got 3 sitters working for us and they are working flat out. I am still having to turn customers away as I can’t get enough sitters.

Thanks for cat business info, it makes sense to keep it as one business on your site. I only split the company because for some reason not all cat owners understand pet care includes cats.

 Thanks for giving us our confidence back. I hope this never happens again, but if it does I know we can handle it now we know what to do. Your experience and advice is invaluable. We can’t thank you enough. I shall update you on Wednesday evening when he has collected his dog.

I joined NarpsUK a year ago when I was setting up my home-boarding business. It was invaluable as a source of information and the various business forms proved very useful. I will continue to be a member of NarpsUk so that I can use their client data base for my bookings and also the members forum which is a very valuable resource for any pet sitter

Just wanted to say thanks to you(NARPS UK) as you have been a big help in setting up my business.
I started in 2009 after being laid off and eventually made redundant from my office job in East Kilbride. I have had pets all my life and eventually found something that I trully love doing and its a pleasure going to work everyday knowing I\'ll see all my doggies and feed my kitty cats.

You were there to help out with everything required, with plenty information, and with any queries that I had with the business and always answer with a friendly response!!!
I always use NARPS to find someone to help out if I am unable to help a client, knowing that their service will have the same principles as myself and so many others.

Its been an absolute pleasure!!!

Since becoming a member of NarpsUK the service received from Marilyn has been outstanding. Any questions I had regarding membership, help and advice regarding setting up my business were, and continue to be, answered promptly, in depth and always in a very helpful and positive manner. The forms issued by NarpsUk to members for clients' records etc (and the advice regarding how to deal with clients)have been a godsend and help to portray myself and my business in a very professional manner. Wow thank you so much, I knew some work needed to be done to my website but as a novice I wasn't sure what!

The text is just so perfect, it says what I wanted to say without knowing quite how to put it. I will indeed take your much appreciated advice and attempt to build another site but may indeed have to pay for it to be built professionally, (although in that case I will have to save up for a little while to fund it but I know it will be worth it.)  I can't thank you enough for your help and advice not only by email but also in our earlier telephone conversation.  Thank heavens I found your site and decided to join; I know that the assistance you have already given me is invaluable for my future business.  I must be honest and was a bit unsure about joining an organisation but I am so very pleased that I did, your kindness won't be forgotten and I will be more than happy to pass on your website details to everyone I know or will have the pleasure of meeting in the future.

 I have recently joined NARPSUK and just wanted to say that I am finding your service invaluable! The various forms, etc. have been hugely appreciated at a time when I am just starting out and have so many other things to think about.

With regard to insurance, I’m afraid I didn’t go via your recommended insurers but this was purely down to doing things the wrong way round!  I rushed to take out insurance straight away as I had a potential booking already in place.  I then joined NarpsUK  a couple of weeks later and realised that I could have got a discount though you so  I will definitely look at this next year when I come to renew.

I have used the business plan and found it extremely handy!   My love has always been my dogs and animals in general.  My mother worked for a vet for over 40 years so animal care has always played such a big part in my life, particularly with dealing with all the waifs and strays she used to bring home!  I’ve also worked in kennels and catteries over the years.  Being put in a redundancy situation, it made me take a look at my life, and I decided this was an opportunity not to be missed to do something I really love.  To have just some of the hard work already done for me, like a pre-written, amendable business plan has been so useful.  It makes what seems like a daunting job so much easier (especially after sitting at a desk all day in my current job!).  And as I previously mentioned, the forms and contracts have just proved worth their weight in gold!

Yes of course you can use my comments on the website, and I’m more than happy for you to use my name, company name and area.

But I’d finally just like to add, that from my experience with your site, I’m certain that other people are finding your site worth every penny.  You know how it is, we’re all so busy, and typical British culture in this day and age means that we don’t hesitate to complain if we have a problem with something yet when we actually find something really good, we think about making contact to say so, but just don’t get round to doing it. If members are renewing - they must be happy.

To have affiliation with a professional organisation is so important these days.  Hence, became one of your members.  I met with a couple yesterday about cat sitting (they have no children and their cats are their babies).  They were thoroughly impressed with all of my forms and I have a presentation folder with my NarpsUK certificate in the front and they commented several times on how professional everything was.  Unfortunately we live in an age where you just don’t know who you can trust so every little thing helps in an industry like this.

I wish you every success with NarpsUK (and apologise for rambling on a bit, but as mentioned, if I don’t do it now, I’ll think about doing it but never get round to it!).  Thank you again for looking into my original enquiry, and if you ever need further feedback, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
